Appointment FAQs

  • What is the cost of my appointment?

We offer ACC co-payment appointments at $50 for the initial consultation and $35 for further follow-ups. Private appointments are $92.50 for initial appointments and $80 for further follow-ups.

  • How long is my physiotherapy appointment?

Typical initial consultations are 30-40 minutes and follow-ups are approximately 20 minutes.

  • Do I need a referral from the doctor?

You do not need to be referred by your doctor, and we are able to lodge ACC claims.

  • What do I do if I need to cancel?

Either text or call us as soon as you are aware you are unable to attend your appointment so we can reschedule this for you at your earliest convenience. We prefer to be given 6 hours notice where possible, but in cases where this is unreasonable, such as you have an early morning appointment and wake up unwell, letting us know first thing in the morning is greatly appreciated.

  • What can I expect from my appointment?

Our physiotherapists will ask a series of questions to better understand your condition, and follow this up with a series of tests before discussing a likely diagnosis with you. Following this, a further discussion is had with your collaboration to decide an optimal management plan for your injury and deliver this treatment as appropriate.

  • What if I need scans or specialist referrals?

We are able to make these referrals and, with over 30 years in operation, have built strong connections with leading specialists in the Kapiti/Wellington and Horowhenua/ Manawatu regions.

  • What if I need time off work with my injury?

Our physiotherapists are unable to write medical certificates but are able to discuss injuries and management plans with your GP with your consent.

  • What should I wear to my appointment?

Depending on your injury, your physiotherapist may need to request removal of outer layers of clothing, for example, to see a shoulder or a knee, so it is recommended to wear either sports or loose clothing such as shorts or singlets to your appointment. We do provide towels and have some shorts available in both clinics should these be required, however we guarantee your privacy and modesty be respected throughout your appointments.
